that the globally recognized “Gregorian Calendar” year begins in January - which is generally, the “dead of winter”... for most of the Western world.I find it interesting...
...the “dead of winter” when the ground is frozen and the landscape is generally barren or covered in snow...
In contrast, the "Old Roman Calendar" year likely started the first of March… closer to Spring's dawn… which seems to be a much more fitting time to "begin" the year...
In fact, the Romans apparently pretty much just ignored the remaining 61 days, which fell in the middle of winter.
“The [Roman] calendar year lasted 304 days and there were about 61 days of winter which were not assigned to any month. ” Roman calendar - Wikipedia
And, what does that mean in regard to/have to do with goal setting, evaluating progress toward objectives and the first quarter check-up?
…it means that the “real” beginning... the "New" year is just getting started!
Spring is about newness of life,
rebirth, Spring Holidays
rebirth, Spring Holidays
and bright, beautiful flowers!~
If you feel that you have “fallen behind” on your "New Year resolutions"
(usually made in Dec/Jan)… it’s NOT TOO LATE... to get things restarted!
SOOO, DON'T QUIT!
DON'T PUT IT OFF ...until "next year"...
time to get crackin’~… Start Fresh! AGAIN!~ : )

to get you started [again : ) ]:
"How To Set Goals" (http://www.dkeener.com/keenstuff/goals.html)
1. What you want to BE
2. What you want to DO
3. What you want to HAVE
4. What you want to GIVE
5. What you don't want to BE, DO, HAVE, and GIVE
While you are brainstorming in these categories, you'll want to make sure you think about subcategories of interest to you. Ones that people often use are:
- Personal
- Artistic-creative,
- Fitness-Health/Wellness
- Learning-Intellectual,
- Fun-Recreation
- Family: Personal Relationship(s)
- Spiritual-Faith Practice
- Community- Friends
- Professional-Career
- Financial
So continue... GO... BE... DO... BECOME...
It's Spring Time!~ the Year is New!...
